For one thing, the line continues the line that's on the other side of the rear wheel. That line would appear cut off if the one on the bumper didn't exist. Also, I think it breaks up the space nicely; if it weren't there, it would just be a big expanse of plastic. It would have the "slab-sided" look of the Z33, which isn't the style of the Z32. I could be wrong, but that's how it looks when I imagine it. I like the rest of your points, and the way you backed them up with diagrams. One thing I wonder is whether they made the middle higher than in the photoshopped version because that could result in a big air bucket where it faces forward?
